Optibox Anaconda Question Thread

Well, got the Anaconda on Thursday and I've been as busy as Colombian Hooker with the US Secret Service ever since. Finally got it out of the box and it is up and running. Got it booted in NTSC and, I must say right off, the picture is amazing. I was wondering if there is a way to delete specific channels? I have looked and it is probably right in front of me but I have missed it if it is there.

The Channel Manager is very powerful once you learn and understand all of its features. I discussed this a little bit in the Raptor review thread. EB

In the dish install menu scroll down 1 to tp and press green button to add or yellow to edit.

I knew all was going too well. Everything was working fine until I got to 91W. When I tried to blind scan I got a message that said scanning single horizontal LNB and then a message that said L-Band of Universal LNB with Vertical Polarity. I have blind scan set for manual, 3700 to 4200, All Polarity, All Channels and 5150 Tried a few other sats and same thing. Auto scan works fine but obviously doesn't find new tp's. Any suggestions?

Just keep scanning EC, that is a message I've seen before when I was scanning on c band. Another thing I've noticed, as with all stb, they need to a reboot every so often including the anaconda.

TP Problem trying to scan 3920-V-30000 s/2 5/6 8psk on 105 got a 84% signal it will scan half way and lock up.

First time I tried that tp I had issues as well. I scanned the 3920 tp yesterday without any problems on a blind scan- all channels not just fta only. Most of those channels have now gone encrypted, if I'm not mistaken the only 2 still open are Pursuit and Bounce.

Try changing the parameters so that your scan does not go above 4000. Nothing above that, that isn't encrypted. I had the same problem on another sat with tp 4161 and stopping below it solved the issue.

I appreciate these problems being posted where we can see them. They have promised to work on the blind scan issues.

EC, If the receiver is hanging on a blind scan, I would like to know what satellite and what transponder(s) it hangs on. Hopefully there will be a pattern so we can understand the problem better. EB

The main reason I didn't post it, EB was that the tp it hung up on was well above the highest tp listed with Lyngsat. It just seem very strange that it found such a high tp. I wil try to find it again. If memory serves correctly it was tp 4161 on 105. I'll move the bud over and run a blind scan right now.
