Sounds like the SX88 is a great porn box. Maybe Rick Caylor is testing the porn features personally?
More excuses for no SF4008 blindscan.
I asked earlier this week and was simply told, "It was not ready." I think they may of had more issues with some new kernels being used in the latest versions of E2 Software.
So at this point after being through this with other manufacturers, I will believe it when it is released and works. Until then, this unit does not have blind scan.
They did also say they are "Working On It."
Thanks,
Rick
Rick should understand at least the basics of a receiver and its operating system , especially since he sells it for a nice profit!
New kernel versions or kernel updates have to come from the Set Top Box Manufacturer. New kernels are not a part of E2 software, but the kernel is included with the enigma2 image. I have not seen any evidence of Octagon updating the kernel.
So at this point, after close to two years since its release date, the Octagon SF4008 does not have blindscan. Chuckrcheese claims to have a blindscan solution for the SF4008, but will not release it. I am very skeptical of this claim and consider it to be nothing more than wishful thinking. Anything is possible I guess, but hardly likely...
The real solution for blindscan in the SF4008 would probably be for Octagon to pay the tuner manufacturer for the feature. That would be the easiest thing to do, and Octagon may do this before releasing a new enigma2 receiver. It is really hard to say at this point what will happen, but anyone wanting or needing blindscan in a fta receiver should not purchase the SF4008 today.
New enigma receivers will be out within the next few months. You can expect new receivers from Dreambox, Vu+, and some others. The dual boot enigma2/Android will return. It looks like both the Dreambox and Vu+ receiver will have this capability. These new receivers will have more features and capabilities than the Sf4008. These new receivers will probably cost less money when compared to what Rick is trying to sell the SF4008 for. We will see...
