Claude Code Examines Enigma2 Channel Format

Claude Code lives in the terminal of your computer and has access to the files or files systems that you allow. I wanted a detailed breakdown of how channels are created in enigma2, and thought I would share the results. Claude Code costs money, and does not have a free or demo version that I know about. The operations of Claude Code can range from simple to complex. Sometimes I will get another AI such as Claude or one of the many ChatGPT variants to help me manage Claude Code. When this happens, you have one AI directing another AI which can be outright funny to watch.

Anyway, with this enigma2 channel thing, I made a folder for Claude Code, moved the entire enigma2 source files into the folder along with a lamedb file from my fta receiver. Then I summoned Claude Code by opening a terminal in this folder and typing the word Claude. I wrote the following message to get Claud Code started:
I want to fully understand how a channel is created in an enigma2 receiver. I have the OpenPli source code for enigma2 in your work directory named enigma2-6. You may browse any part of this directory and search the internet as needed for the information you need. A file named lamedb is also in your work directory. This file represents a working channel file in an enigma2 receiver. I want to understand exactly how the channel is put together and what everything means. As an example,
00a7:0be48fae:00c9:0001:1:0:0

CTO PNR HD AC3
p:,C:0e00 Write your findings in detail to a .md file. Thanks.

The above message was typed and Claude Code went to work on the project. The results are attached. Note: For the most part, AI's generate markdown files which are great when properly viewed. See the How To in this section if you need help properly viewing these files. The mysession-complete.md Is a lengthy summary of the terminal and may not be easily understood. The other attached .md files should be easy to understand and go into great detail as to how channels are created in enigma2.

Claude Code has a vast memory as an AI. Add to that his freedom to search the Internet and you have a very formidable piece for anything related to enigma2. In some ways, Claude Code is one of the best of the current AI offerings, but in other ways, he is the worst. Money can count up fast when working with Claude Code, to the point where the 100 U.S. dollar subscription is a bargain as compared to purchasing tokens.

We give Claude Code 1,746 +1 files and items to analyze, plus use the of the Internet:
enigma2-6-file_count- 2025-06-25 08-16-46.webp

And he gets a fairly simple set of instructions:
Instructions- 2025-06-24 20-49-33.webp

Then Claude does his job and you get a bill:
Bill- 2025-06-24 23-23-20.webp

Roughly 3 U.S. dollars to analyze and make his reports. I also got him to make a file that he can review so he will not have to spend the time and money to get this information again. When you close the terminal, or exit Claude Code, then everything that was examined or accomplished is lost. So it helps greatly to have him make a file so you can revisit the project later, which I intend to do.
