Arasat 2

TP:3895 H 13500
but it may be dvb-s2 which I can't get with the mini bud
I have to aim with ku 1st and adjust but I have no ku to aim with

On another site, they haven't figured out yet if it's 81 or 82.

"Is anyone seeing this Mux on Arsat 2?

3850 H 13500
5/6 8PSK DVB-S2
H.265"

"But I get [81.0W] 3790 - Horizontal - 8200.096 - 5/6 - QPSK (SNR: 11.2 dB, RFLevel: -56 dBm)"

"I have 15.3 dB on 3790 and 14.1 dB on 3849.
10 foot Unimesh dish in Northern California."

etc.

15 channels scan in for me on tp:

3850 H 13500

all channels using xcrypt encryption. Signal strength a bit too weak for me on tp 3790 H 8200 and no signal on tp 3895 H 13500.

Those beam charts show the best signal for the highest power transponder under "ideal" conditions.

The transponder for this satellite that has channels is 8psk 5/6 fec. So you will need around 10db snr to get a picture. Anything less than 3 meters, or about 10 feet of dish for this transponder will be marginal at best.

for other sats I go by the lyngsat eirp readings for my area.
For the mini bud I need an eirp of 43 or forget it.
The only sat I can get is 91w C with an eirp of 43.6

Again, you cannot go by those footprint charts because they are not accurate!

For signal in db:
A 4 foot or 1.2 meter dish on c band is about equal to an 18-20 inch dish on ku band.

A 12 foot or 3.7 meter dish on c band is about equal to a four foot dish on ku band.

during warmer weather I used the charts to aim from 30w to 121w and the only sats I could get were the high eirp ones.
eirp 42 maybe,like on 107w 1 or 2 tp's
I was even getting some dvb-s2 on 91w by tweaking the dish, but then I would lose the dvb-s
I can get about 24-28 channels on 91w
