VBox Problems

Having issues with my CBand. The screen is breaking up every now and then so I've run a new line to the LNB with no improvement. My stb now does not control positions through the VBox as before. Using 2 remotes to change sats is a bit of a pain, having like 6 remotes on the coffee table. I was thinking I may have to reset my stb and redo all the settings? Is there another solution I could try?

I replaced the main coax from the vbox to the dish. My stb goes into the vbox and then to the dish. The stb remote used to control the vbox positions when selecting a different satellite. ATM I have to use the vbox remote to select positions as well as the stb remote to change sats. I'm sure it is just an easy fix but haven't figured it out yet.

Well, today I got bored with my c band picture breaking up all the time and switched around a few different receivers a few times. The openbox S9 was a bit dated and didn't offer all the features I have gotten used to, the manhatten 1933 was even worse. Finally put the X² back and now the V box works again, go figure? Still getting picture breakup on SES1 101°W and think my LNB is due for replacement. I currently have a 741 LNBF installed and would like some recommendations for a decent C Band LNB.

Thanks in advance!

Happy Testing!!!

It is possible the lnb is bad, but usually a lnb works or does not work. Most likely, your problem is a loose. wet, or dirty connection. A bad cable or bad vbox connectors is also possible. Dish alignment could also cause the problems you describe.

Run a cable that you know is good straight from the back of the receiver to the lnb. Do not use any switches. See if the problem goes away on 101w when you do this test.
