One of these days I need to get a block heater or move a few thousand miles south..lol

Car started okay yesterday at -25 but those extra -5 or so made a differenace , my garage is to cluttered to park there.

I was going to bring the battery inside but since it's in my trunk and being a chrysler 300 you can/t open the trunk with no power, you have to crawl through the back seat to open the emergency lever.

I have some power to open it with the fob but then I would have to leave the trunk ajar over night and don't feel like having to empty out my dash cam and gps or other things people might steal.

The weather is nice at the moment, but I picked up the zerostart battery warmer for next time.
Also I feel like an idiot!! I have had this car for abour 6 years..looked up the VIN and it shows it's equiped with a block heater..I went lokking....t was hiding behind the computer box with a cap over the outlet..

Could have been pluggin it in all those years..:smiley9:

They can hide the cords pretty well sometimes. I had one put on my diesel daily driver (car) here in the mid-Atlantic region, and my mechanic looked at me like I was an idiot. He's not the one who has to get up in the morning and run the battery flat trying to start it when it dips low here. I do, however, have trouble finding where I tucked the cord, so don't feel too bad.

I got the block heater (and oil sump pad heater) religion with general aviation aircraft, and saw how much of a difference it made, so I figured why not use the tools that are available?

years ago my kids would trip over the extension cord and unplug the block heater
so I decided to tie it together
got up hungover and running late
guess what happened?lol
