The Land Without Power: Welcome to the New Normal in Northern California

Yup, was 3 days without power the last time, and nothing happened.....Except for finding out that the standby generator had carburetor problems.

I saw a crew of PG&E guys and trucks sitting down in a field at the cross roads, I stopped and asked them whats up? They said the they were waiting for the wind to die down so they could go out and inspect the power grid in the area...15 guys, 7 trucks, just sitting there, I wounder how much that cost for 3 days?????

Out three days in shutoff #1, one day for shutoff #2 (ended yesterday) and preparing for shutdown #3 that will start Saturday afternoon and estimated to be longer than #1. Up to 5 days... The serfs are about to breach the moat to the castle!

One of my daughters lives in El Dorado county and she's not too thrilled. She's thinking of getting a generator at this point.

Our power may come on today, but it is scheduled to be shut down for another high wind event tomorrow.... aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!
