More Problems :-(

Well figured out today my actuator is set on the wrong side of my dish, my lowest sat will be on the east side and the actuator is on the west! I need to remove the dish and spin it 90 deg. to get the mount on the correct side DOH! Then while waiting on my X2 to arrive I was messing with my old Chaparral Monterey 90 and it died on me WTF! So now my Favorite Analog/Backup Dish mover died. Feels like I lost a member of the family and having to use this STUPID IQ Prism is killing me, it is stupid difficult to set up. Figured maybe I can find one cheap on Flebay, WRONG! Sellers want stupid money for these things still! DOUBLE WTF?? BAD DAY!

I can go further than 43w with my actuator mounted on the west side w/o dumping my dish. You can go further east with the actuator mounted on the west by sliding the outer tube further up the clamp towards the dish.

Both my 10' and 8' dishes have mounts on both sides. When facing the dish from the back I have both actuators hooked up on the left side. When I install I always attempt to have my dish facing as far east as possible with the arm inwards with maybe 1" to spare and set my limit there. I was lucky enough to get to 127w on the c band side and 123w on the ku side.

Nope sure doesn't and i checked today and there is no way to flip it. GEEZE Does it ever end? I can weld a tab to the east side and make it work. Guess that's what I'll have to do. I have the actuator adjusted for plenty on the east and west without dumping (24" actuator on a 6' BUD) but the actuator binds on the mount to the east and the dish gets jittery just before it hits. It will work but its going to be a pain because i will have to go to the limit and then track back to get it aligned properly. I get the west easily! My 30+ year old 45deg. Drake LNB with this IQ is terrible, the picture has sparkles, the Monterey was perfect. Shipping is taking forever on the items I ordered, so who knows when I'll ever get everything? Going to get as much done as I can so I'm ready when the packages finally arrive.

I must be missing something.

I have a 24" actuator mounted on the west side, right if looking at it from the back, and I get 43w to 139w.

I can't find anything below say 58w other than spanish channels.

I too have about an inch to spare when I'm at my limit to the west and 139w is not far from that, BUT, that position is relative to where you set the outer tube in relation to the clamp holding it on the mount.

You can move the outer tube and clamp relative to one another to go further one way or the other.

It must be something with the way the mount is made?? I have the actuator 10deg. west of 135. My last viewable sat is AMC8 at 139. It still gets bound when I go east. I don't really know how far east it's going all I have right now is an Analog receiver and there is nothing there. I'll get the compass out and check, maybe it's going further than I think??

well looks like I'm tracking from 47.1w to 139w. better than I thought. Guess as long as it's accurate far east I'll leave it alone for now! I really didn't think I was getting that far east?

Pics for the pic lovers. I know I am!

Around 100 degrees of dish travel is all you are going to get out of most polar mounts.
I really like the pictures! Very nice work!

Nice job with the picture posting (large and clear). But I don't see the control cable for the actuator or the polar rotor.
The LNBF will work much better than that polar rotor.

Thank you! Those pics were from before I finished installing the wiring. I'm waiting for my 13deg. digital LNBF to be delivered and wanted to get everything lined up, so I threw an old Polarotor I had laying around here to check the alignment. My X2 just arrived and even though my old drake 1980's 45deg. LNB that has shifted a ton is installed I'm still picking up 45 channels on the V side on 97w. I'm AMAZED! This little box is cool! Now to put a NA Satellite chart in this thing.

Very nice job GetBit03 !! Looks like you will be all set up very soon..It's a fun hobby when you get things done.

Got almost everything done outside tonight. UPS Showed up around 5 with a large package for me! All I need to do is put my feed horn cover on and I'm done. There's a large storm on the way so I wanted to get done so I didn't have to be outside tomorrow (ICE STORM) So far everything is working good!! Will get more pics for the pic lovers!

Sounds good.

Of course it's a personal thing but I leave the feed covers off. They trap moisture and humidity and bake the LNBs in the summer. YMMV.

You probably live in a more comfortable climate, mother nature throws everything at you in a Canadian winter so I have my feeds covered.

I thought the DISEqC Box would ignore USALS commands?? When I send a USALS command the DISEqC Box moves?? Im confused, thought I did plenty of homework guess I need to do more?? Maybe it's a problem with the X2??
