Difference Between 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 Feeds

I have complained about STB's for years being fixed on Mpeg 2 or Mpeg4 and not software upgrade. I think this is to sell more receivers. Have a friend that uses a computer with PCI and USB receivers to make changes with software. I do not have room for a computer in the satellite receiver area so try to get receivers with the most.
 
Having a receiver with 4:2:2 capability isn't that big of a deal but most of the live CBS sporting events that I watch are in that format.
 
That is good to know about 4.2.2. I was told that PBS plans to switch in about 2 years to mpeg 4 ? I guess it will be more important to have that in the future.
