The v7 was garbage for me, the first one died on me and the second had problems as well. I did order the ATSC version but haven't got it yet.

The V7 is a mini receiver like say the M100. Mine went kaput after freezing up on a weak channel that was pixelating. The seller sent me another but it had various bugs so I gave up on it. I wouldn't buy another v7. I just picked up the atsc version because I believe the larger case may run cooler, the price was right, and I don't have a dvb-s2 box with an atsc tuner. My Pansat doesn't really count because the s2 module doesn't work well and is an add-on.

I think you will find enigma2 has the best atsc. EPG and recording work very well on the e2 boxes.

I got the V7 ATSC. The receiver works well, the fit and finish is good. It scans in all of my ATSC channels however the guide does not show and the channel names are not displayed. The box just gives you numbers. The ATSC reception seems to be on par with my TV.

Just curious Rob, for those needing to record atsc, does it do so without problems (stuttering, dropouts, audio) ? Also, does it have a recording event timer allowing you to set up current and future recordings? Last question, will it allow multiple atsc recordings of channels on the same mux, such as, PBS-1, PBS-2, PBS-3, etc. Have a friend needing an inexpensive sat/atsc receiver, but don't think he would care about the epg. Thanks.

Most of the event timer stuff is harder without the epg working. When you record a channel in the mux, it allows you to view another channel on the same frequency. It would not let me record another channel at the same time. It seems to have color glitching when recording HD channels. The timer function seemed to work fine otherwise. There are 20 timer settings.
