    I remember the ring from an lna I bought in the 80's but never had a chance to use.
    Would that be something I need on a modern lnb/ 8.5' dish?
    or am I being obtuse?

    A moot point,since the original feedhorn diameter is smaller than a modern C/Ku the ring just slides inside a modern lnb all the way.
    The original scalar had to be reamed out to fit the new one after looking at it again.
    or am I being obtuse?
