So My C-band dish is setup, not perfect as yet..But I thought it might be interesting to hear how members service or maintain their Actuator..
I have read some will service every 3 months with oil,grease..ect
Just wondering your thoughts and benefits of doing so and the possible damage of not maintaining your motor.

If you have a grease fitting on the actuator, just shoot some high quality grease in there twice a year - making sure that you extend the actuator all the way through the range of motion each time.
Most of the C Band dishes I have picked up the actuators were locked up because no one ever moved them through the full extent of motion. Most were parked on 125 degrees becuase of 4Dtv...

When I had a jack, I too did mine in the fall. I would also grease any other places that I could. Pivot points ect.. Every now and then I would move the jack through the entire spread from end to end, not just when I greased it. Have a great day!
NOTE: I should add that I always retracted the arm completly then greased it. That way when I extended it out the grease was spread over the entire innards.Last edited by stone1150; 07-10-2011 at 05:49 AM. Reason: added statement.....
