Costa's link has the same information as my .pdf file in post#1. I understood there is supposed to be a review of the remote keyboard in this month's issue of the TeleSatellite magazine. EB

Looks like they pump out the firmware pretty good, file sizes are more along the azbox size.

I think 189 is reasonable for the features..what about the sat list..have you found an editor to make NA satellite lists?
here their web site with downloads & SparkEditor_Beta. hxxp://www.amikostb.com/?q=product&id=8

Thanks. I will make a note of the website.
Dual boot(Spark & Alien) means you need two of everything unless you only want to use only one of the two operating systems.
I will put something on the table now. Attached is the Amiko toolbox. This is a multiple utility that contains some common Ali3602 tools, plus the Alien channel editor. The first order of business will be to make a North American sat file for the Amiko.

Note: I have posted this utility here in this thread because I have not tested it on any firmware(s). Feel free to move it to the files section if you see fit. Check it out. It is a very nice multiple utility. EB

Yep, nice utility.. we can leave it here for now and if it's as advertised we will make a section for it.

I just ordered one, no keyboard at 189.. are we going to have to change the ac plug?

You ordered one???LOL. OK. You can share the pains or gains with me...
I expect it to have the same plug as the Openbox, so it will probably need an adapter.
The receiver's power supply is designed for 50-60 hertz at 100-200 volts. This design allows it to be compatible in almost any part of the world.

BTW, Costa's link works. I had more than one .pdf file open and got confused. I think the review of the Amiko remote is on page 48 of his link. The download for his link is close to 100MB.

    another link to embed:

Yeah...Well...Look at page 48 in Costa's link. You will find information on the remote keyboard. I find this remote keyboard to be about as interesting as the receiver itself.
Also, they mention a huge Alien firmware update and describe how to load this update in the receiver.
