It would be even nicer if the EPG could be made to populate. Still a big improvement over what we had previously, which was nothing!
I applaud the efforts of Sundtek!

We can put EPG and Closed Captioning onto the wishlist for next month.

Aside of that the channel scan will depend on a terrestrial.xml file - or you have to enter all the frequencies manually one by one, but we can also make that userfriendly next month (eg. implement a small scanning tool for Windows that generates that XML file for you).

The chance is high that all that will really be done because we have some business customers also asking for those things (except the settopbox support, that was your request)

Where is the terrestrial .xml file in the file system??? I guess I can hunt for its location if needed.

I guess none exists for it because no one ever used ATSC with E2 and your location - you're the first one.

You might need to create one by yourself

it looks like this (now I don't know what bandwidth="0" means, for ATSC you must set it to 6 MHz otherwise it will scan QAM channels:

I don't know what bndwidth="0" means, maybe it's 6 MHz because with normal Linux systems it translates 0,1,2 -> 6,7,8MHz

There is a BlackHole ATSC E2 Image that scans and does everything except show a picture. I will dig the .xml file out of it, but it will probably be the same .xml file that I posted some time ago at OpenPLi.

Just cannot remember where that file resides in E2. Will try and look this evening.

I just think they deployed a terrestrial.xml (or something similar by themselves) - without it it will not do anything.

But I'm sure we cannot compete with the WAF (Wife acceptance factor) with the blackhole image,

    > my dear let's watch 551 SID 1 tonight
    > sure let me zap through it

    ;-)

unfortunately you have to tell the channel name with our Tuners

In my current OpenATV the terrestrial.xml file is in /etc and /usr/share. Here what ATV's looks like.

The bandwidth should be "2" then, you might modify the file.

for mid term we can implement some real auto scan and possibly a lineup server to submit the channel list to us so everyone can download and re-use it.
