You can also use Dreamboxedit to get rid of those useless sats and channels.
    East,

I tried Dreambox edit yesterday, it connects to the box, but reports errors when down loading the files.

Ok, checked the blind scan on 101w vertical only due to receiver being slaved at this time off the Raptor. I had quite a few channels listed. I selected MeTv1 and it is working fine, except for the sizable black square in the upper right. Now I can't find how to get off this channel and select another.

You might check for the correct receiver paths and settings.

You can do almost everything using the receiver that you can do with a channel editor, but you will need to install a few plugins. More on that after you get used to the Atemio.

Let's start with the channel selection menu.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    In the Channel Selection Menu,
Pressing the Green button on the remote will give you the satellites list.
Pressing the Blue remote button will give you the Favorites list.

Here is a screenshot of my satellite list.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    In the Satellite list,
Highlight a Satellite to edit or to delete it, then press the menu button on the remote.
The next screenshot shows the editing options for a satellite.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Get rid of the Bouquets for the European satellites. The Bouquets are stored in Favourites. To access the Favourites, Press the Blue Button on the remote (refer to the very first screenshot in this post).

To edit or delete a Favourite, Highlight it, then press the menu button.

These tidbits of information should be enough to get you started on cleaning up some of the unwanted satellites and bouquets. There is a lot more editing you can do using the receiver but you will need to install some plugins.

You are using the default Metrix skin. I am using a skin named Simple, so my screenshots will look a bit different than what you see using Metrix, but the information shown here is the same.

The term factory reset in all Enigma2 images goes back to the beginnings of the OS and is quite misleading. It does not return the receiver back to factory condition as the name would suggest but instead simply wipes the user area of the currently installed image. Also there is a telnet command you can use to wipe all channel settings etc from the image remotely but I cant think of it at the moment (I will post it as soon as I remember the exact command).

A factory reset on my Duo2 using OpenATV erases all of the European satellites and bouquets.

As I said it wipes the user area, bouquets are part of that user data.
