Here's another Android hybrid that runs Android and Tvheadend integration with the DVB-S/S2 tuner.

It does blind scan as can be seen in the attached video. This receiver competes with the Amiko A3 and is retailing for $160 to $225 on Amazon and other sites. The specs indicate a single core and slower processor and has less memory than the Amiko A3 which is a dual. Plus the Android version is a lesser version.

The gui seems to be much easier to use than the A3, but it does have a sat loop thru which is convenient. The RC does not seem to have as many functions as the A3 equivalent. It also seems to bootup in 1080i/60 right out of the box.

Haven't found any bad reviews on this receiver yet. Hope they come out with a three tuner version soon.

    CPU: ARM Cortex A9
    • SingleCore-2500DMIPS

    • 3D Graphics: OpenGL ES 2.0/1.1/1.0 OpenVG 1.1
    • 1 Smart Card reader
    • LED Display 4 digits
    • Tuner type: 1 DVB-S/S2 F-type
    • USB: 3 ports (2.0)
    • HDMI v1.4
    • Ethernet: 10/100M
    • RCA: Video CVBS Audio L/R
    • Power Supply: 12V 2.0A DC power adapter
    • Power consumption: MAX 30W

    - 0,8W passive mode

The guy edited the video in the middle of the blind scan? Seriously?

Anybody know what the actual blind scan speed is like? It seemed like it was finding transponders pretty fast, but then again, the transponders are pretty much all in use, all powerful, and all wide on the bird he was scanning...

Astra satellite position at 19.2 east is one of the most vast orbital positions in the world, puts Galaxy 19 to shame.

I have not seen an Android fta box that has a decent fta receiver attached to it. Android was designed for smart phones and tablets. Android was not designed to be used for fta, so things like blindscan and other premium features will probably not work as well with Android as they will with other systems.

A good blindscan receiver depends a lot on the tuner. I think an Android fta receiver could be adapted to have a very good blindscan with the proper work, but do not hold your breath while waiting for this to happen! EB

The raptor and Anaconda were near the end of support when we got them. They had already been on the market for a couple of years. It would have been nice if they would have supported those receivers for us....
