Pricey wee boxes.... probably not as cool as the new fridge box with XBMC so you can have access to all the best PIRATE movies and shows with just a click or two from the remote. talk about a PIRATE box out of the box this will be it...XBMC does not officially condone PIRACY.. it's just for your own media to be played or steamed..ha ha..

The New X2 satellite STB coming soon and not for 200 dollars or even 100 dollars....Faster Blindscan, more features than before..

I didn't see any processor specifications for this. Are there any specs like that posted anywhere?

All I've seen is repeated specs of the post above. Even DMSI has the same info on their site.

Your probably looking at another over priced STB, Like the Fridge models..they have weak hardware that fails easy and fast...they cost about 5 dollars but fridge will sell you for 120-200..lol..

The new X2 will be faster and run way less than a 100..

And no XBMC PIRATE stuff like you get from Fridge included in your new Pirate Fridge box..

Well, this receiver made its debut but it certainly didn't last too long in regards to support. Looks like the engineers can't or don't want to fix troublesome play back of some hd and high bit rate feeds in N.A. So, prices have been cut accordingly to remove from inventory.

Price cut? Actually just a tad more of a realistic price. They are still way overpriced for a product with known problems.

Here is a quote from Rick about this receiver.
    Posted 11/07 · Edited #1
Well after waiting several months and supplying the Engineers with several stream recordings of the HD feeds and High Bit rate feeds that this receiver has trouble playing, I think it is time to Throw in the Towel in relation to thinking that the Engineers can fix it to play those feeds smoothly.

I talked to DMSI and he agreed that since no new software has been offered, the Engineers apparently cannot fix the problem.

So just going to have to move forward.

I will accept the unit as a Good Fast Blind Scanner that can still play many channels fine.

Going to Knock the Price down to 97.50 including shipping withing the US.

It will be a good basic receiver for those that need something for the RTV's on SES 2 or the Galaxy 19 Ku-Band Channels. It does still play many other channels fine as well, but there are several HD and High Bit rate feeds that the receiver has problems with playing smoothly.

The Blind Scan is still very good and very fast, so it will still meet the needs of many individuals that need an inexpensive receiver that can play the channels that they want.

Thanks for those of you who helped with the testing and development of the unit. Wish they would of been able to fix it, but does not appear that it is going to happen and since they cannot fix that, I don't think I will be asking for other things. Just going to have to accept the unit for what it can do.
So he knocks the price down from 150 to 97.50 U.S. IMO, this new price should apply to Everybody, including a partial refund for those that already purchased at full price!

Beta test receivers were common not too long ago. These pre-production receivers were sent to folks who tested them for problems. Doing this allowed major bugs or mistakes to be fixed or at least announced in advance. This system was abused, and some of the cronies at Satguys even sold their free beta receivers, so companies do not do this much anymore.

Looks like the next thing Rick will be selling is a X2 clone receiver. Sometimes I wonder if these New receivers are really new?
Maybe they are not really new, but just surplus parts that were left after a production run of another receiver? Maybe buy the surplus boards and other main parts for next to nothing, then find a new case to put it all in and call it a new receiver? What Rick is fixing to sell reminds me of somebody doing this. EB
