Before you cut the plug off, check to see which wire is grounded to the chassis and when you use a US three prong plug wire it the same way.

Of course the receiver booted up in pal so I had to break out my old tv that I use outdoors. My first impression is real good. The menu, as similar as it may seem to the old coolsat stb, is quite impressive and very detailed. I have it blind scanning Hispasat at the moment and its blind scan speed is fast, not as fast as the x2 but its tuner is the most sensitive I have ever tested. It scanned in 3 additional channels that the x2 didn't find. Lots more to come, some pics:

It also scanned in an extra channel on Telstar 12 that the x2 didn't.

Did the Technomate find the big 45000 SR transponders OK?

IMO, blind scan is very unpredictable. I have found that blind scan is a crap shoot in any fta receiver. Some receivers blind scan better than others, but they all may miss something on one blind scan and get it on the next 2 or 3 tries. Some satellites like T12 seem to be more unpredictable during a blind scan than others. MSNBC was missed a lot on all of my receivers when it was active at 11709V 3198.

Blind scanning with the Technomate is a pleasure. It has nowhere the speed of the x2 but the info I get on my screen is incredible it tells me:

    s1
    s2/qpsk
    s2/8psk
    fec
    16apsk
    32apsk

I've never had a box that gave me all this info on the screen. The only issue I have is deleting or adding sats which I haven't figured out as of yet so I'm just renaming the sats in its memory and reassigning the orbital position so my motor knows where to go. It also doesn't hurt that picture quality is outstanding, even on most sd channels as well.
