    Hi Folks

    Got a problem for ya...

I bought the Skybox F3 receiver on ebay.

I hooked it up to my C-band system, and it works!!!

However, there's one thing missing on this F3 model.

NO CLOSED CAPTIONED for the Deaf-hearing impaired.

My TV set is already set for CLOSED CAPTIONED.
But I don't think it's not responding from F3 model??
Or I believe somehow this F3 model doesn't response to CC.

I am wondering does Skybox F4 and F5 models receives CC??
Or in other words, do they have a VBI 21 lines to receive Closed
    Captioned, CC???

If you believe that Skybox F3 model does receive Closed Captioning,
then how do I accesss from it to make it work????

I checked all language from F3, ALL of them in ENGLISH.

I tried pressing on the SUBTITLE, but on the screen it says
    "NO DATA".

Once again, my TV set is alrady set to display Closed Captioned,
and watching satellite channels on Skybox F3, there's No Closed
    Captioned.

Hope my query helps for answers.
    Thank you,
    Eugene

Welcome to legitfta!! Unfurtunally most of todays FTA receiver wont do closed caption. None of the Skybox/Openbox will do it. There are just a few that can do it.
    X2 Premium III HD, Openbox X5/ S10, Gsky V3/V6, iSmart m100

Closed Captions are sent within the video stream on the same PID. Subtitles use a separate PID from the video. The only modern DVB-S2 receiver I know of that does closed captions is the GEOSATPRO microHD. Other than that, you could record a program and play it with VLC on the computer. The latest builds of VLC do a good job of emulating the closed captions protocol.
