if you reload firmware 5402 and it dont kill it then its not a clone, and i was told that 5402 had a clone kill code in it.

Costactc said he bought his unit from WWS. WWS buys their units from Rick and Rick has confirmed that. I highly doubt he received a clone. I think that the individual who started all of this bit off more than he can chew.

I don't believe 5402 has clone kill code in it. There was to be another firmware update, but it was delayed due to the flood of clones, and any new update was to contain the code. 5402 firmware was released July 2012, first information about the clones came out in December.

the clones have been out for well over 2 years and i know this because i have had one in my hands that was dead after a firmware upgrade, i jtaged it and loaded an older firmware on it and told the man to never update it and never bring it back for me to repair it, and to call ricks
when he needed a new one.

Didn't state it well enough. The flood of AzBox Premium HD Plus clones into Canada was made known in December (though they discovered some in October), and prompted a delay in updated firmware from AZBox Canada (author of 5400 and 5402, both released July 2012) who said "all subsequent firmware releases will include code in order to permanently disable these devices."
