Bargain FTA receiver
I just received this unit. The price was so low at 17$ shipped that I could not resist. It has a remote control sensor/display that plugs into the box. It claims to do AAC audio but I don't think it works. There are a number of internet capabilities including Youtube. I am testing out the tuner for now however.

BER and Modulation
The signal meter shows the modulation and BER. This would be the only newer receiver I have that shows bit error rate.

Looks cool for $17. Do you have a link Rob?

They are about 19$ there. I got mine from aliexpress.
This unit runs pretty warm so I recommend a fan for it. It has been reliable so far.

The box claims to do ac3 audio but I can't get it to work. You could probably pass it through HDMI to a stereo but no dice otherwise. There is an HDMI port and an AV port along with 2 USB ports.
-
The page says something about "fastest blind scan". True or just hype?
-
I Doubt blindscan or anything about the receiver is the latest for 17 dollars. Does not hurt to test though.
The chip probably will not decode ac3 audio because the license fee for it was not paid.
-
If they get any cheaper, the shipping expense will be more than the receiver price. I like the option of different ac plugs.

I will do a blindscan speed test once I adjust the new lnb on my dish. The reception is not good right now. I will test it soon. The supplier said that it won't do ac3 audio. It has some menu options to pass through ac3 so it might work through the HDMI port to a capable stereo. As long as the receiver holds up it is a good item to use in the yard to point a dish. It claims 16apsk but I don't know of a good one to check right now to verify if it will properly show it in the signal menu.
-
The 16apsk is probably true, and definitely worth what you paid for it.
I think we will see some very low prices on older fta equipment this year because of h.265 and 4k. Anything that does not have those two options will soon be an antique. So we are seeing a fire sale of sorts.
